Maafahi, a 100% Maldivian brand of Seagull Group is derived from the name of an island in Haa Alifu. The island is operated by Seagull Group to carry out its Agricultural and fisheries projects combined with a full service boat yard. Products from Maafahi are available from Seagull Foods retail outlets.

At Maafahi we have perfected the skill of growing the best papayas & bananas that you can find in the Maldives. These are grown & processed on a commercial scale ensuring a constant supply of fresh products. We already supply these products to a number of resorts and retail outlets in Male’. Furthermore, we also grow hydroponics which includes lettuce, cucumber and cherry tomato.

Apart from agriculture, fisheries activities are also conducted in Maafahi and our current produce include Rihaakuru (local tuna paste), smoked fish, dried fish and frozen fish.

The aim of this project of Seagull Group is to find out what fruits and vegetables can be successfully grown in the Maldives and finding ways to grow superior quality high yielding products. In time we hope to replace some of the fruits and vegetables imported in to the Maldives.

For us growing is one part of our job while the rest of it extends to being able to regularly supply the products to the end users and to facilitate ways of transporting the products to the end users in excellent fresh quality.
